One of my main concerns is: how can I make a difference? There are thousands of political blogs out there. It’s easy to get lost in that ocean. So I may blog about politics on occasion, or I may blog about health issues, depending on where my interests lead me, and where I feel I can contribute something of significance.

We dump three billion pieces of litter into the oceans each year? This may not be on the radar screens of many people, but to me it is mind boggling what we are doing to our oceans.


I have often discussed calorie restricted diets as a way of living longer. Now research suggests that restricting calories may reduce symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease.


Research suggests that eating vegetables reduces hardening of the arteries. Excuse me, but didn’t we already know this? And even knowing this, how many people do you think are really going to start eating more vegetables?


The University of Chester is betting that weight management is going to be a big field in the future by offering a Master’s degree in the subject for personal trainers, doctors, and health professionals.
