Has anyone thought much about pesticides lately? I try to eat organic as much as possible. I was reading this article, and it is difficult to ignore the fact that there are a lot of pesticide residues in our food. Are they bad for us? I don’t know, but it is interesting to note that when children were fed a diet of organic food, the pesticide levels in their bodies noticeably dropped. People are always saying things like, “We have not proven a direct correlation between doing X and getting sick.” Right, and that’s what they said about cigarette smoking too. For my part I will steer toward the side of caution. Consuming pesticides can’t be good for me. I don’t think anyone is claiming that pesticides are making me healthier, although they might claim that eating food, which just happens to contain pesticide, is good for my health. To me that is debatable. In the meantime I will try to avoid pesticides as much as possible and just hope I don’t get some catastrophic illness.
