The Tao of Politics

One of my main concerns is: how can I make a difference? There are thousands of political blogs out there. It’s easy to get lost in that ocean. So I may blog about politics on occasion, or I may blog about health issues, depending on where my interests lead me, and where I feel I can contribute something of significance.

The Tao of Bird Flu
37. We must delight in the destruction of viruses. That is the only way to beat bird flu.

DON’T BE FOOLED, FOOLS
Doesn’t anybody see what’s happening with this Dubai port deal? I think this whole thing is something cooked up by Karl Rove. The administration makes a very unpopular deal, and the Republicans in Congress get to call them on it. The Republican congressmen get to look really tough on security issues all over TV. The Republican congressmen hold onto their seats in the fall. The Republicans hold onto Congress. The Democrats, and the country, are screwed again.

I’ve mentioned all this before. I know it is cynical and paranoid, but it’s happening before our eyes. And I wouldn’t put anything past the bunch in the White House now. But the point is, don’t be fooled by all this. These guys are the same ones who gave us the quagmire in Iraq. They’re the same ones who botched Katrina. And they’re the ones who belong to the culture of corruption. We have got to remember all this as the 2006 elections approach. And vote Democratic.

What’s the difference between a Democrat and a Republican? The Republicans have a better plan, and they’re all on the same page.
