One of my main concerns is: how can I make a difference? There are thousands of political blogs out there. It’s easy to get lost in that ocean. So I may blog about politics on occasion, or I may blog about health issues, depending on where my interests lead me, and where I feel I can contribute something of significance.

This is pretty good news: Researchers in South Korea say they have genetically engineered a cold virus to kill cancer cells. See, this is what I think scientists should be doing, trying to cure cancer instead of tinkering with the food supply.

I don’t know if I believe this, but mothers who don’t take vitamin E during pregnancy may be likely to have a child who suffers from asthma. It is probably really important to take prenatal vitamins. And it is probably really important to take them with the advice of your doctor.

One third of Americans are obese, and illnesses associated with this condition cost the US health care system more than ninety billion dollars per year.

Statin drugs like Lipitor and Zocor are said to improve the lung health of smokers and former smokers. They think the reason this works is because of the anti-inflammatory properties of the drugs.
